Eric's project '87 stang !

Modifications: Would you believe this stang started out as a 4 banger ! It has since been converted to a SC'd 5.0. This car has undergone 70 plus mods, the first was chassis stiffening. It has a 2x3 crossmember in the floor, rocker plates(1/4), and plated and welded torque boxes.

The floor was cut out from tunnel to tunnel and replaced with thicker stronger sheetmetal(expensive) custom. The car features a 6 point cage, as well as strut tower brace, shock tower brace, and 4 point G load brace. The rear end is of '97 gt origin, it was welded, lockered, and geared, and is an incredible upgrade on the brake system. The car was outfitted with Lincoln front rotors, and calipers, as well as stainless steel braklines(flex) throughout. The front spindles were changed, and struts, and all polyurethane bushings were added throughout. The rear also features megbites jrs. for the lowers, and hotchkins adjustable uppers. All this rides on a set of motorsport B springs.

This car has been fitted with SALEEN EFX, and wheels to the tune of 17x9 rears, and 17x8 fronts shod in BFG -ZR rubber. The car has had an interior makeover as well, as in GT '93 style. The motor on the car was an '89, but was bored .30 over and was fitted with GT40 heads, GT40 intake upper and lower(ported) 67EGR, 65 throttle, and 77 mm mass air, this runs into the lower and mixes with 24# sprayers regulated by crane and pumped by a 190 bbk in tank. The car has one new item, that Eric just aquired and that is a 10 psi Vortech, something he waited til last for. The exhaust is 2-1/2 off-road dynomax race magnum, sent via BBK 1-5/8 equal length headers. All of it is driven from a custom chip from Pauls High Performance in Jackson, MI.

The paint and mods were all done by Eric, with the exception of the cage and 2x3 which, (He may as well have done it himself :-). The antenna was shaved, as was the decklid.

Comment: This car will see some track time next spring, but for now, its in the barn in a zip lock!!(carbag). I have tested it on the street, and now its time to track it!!

MW: With a plate like that, what more can we say ? ROCK ON ERIC !
