Mac Cold air
intake install
For all the other first timers like me, this should be a fairly simple job if you have the time and patience to do it.
Tools Needed : Car jack, 3/8" wrench, 7/16" wrench, 5/16" wrench or socket, screwdriver, 10 mm wrrench I got the kit from MAC Performance for $189.00 Step 1: Disconnect the fittings connected to the mass air sensor and the air temp. sensor on the rubber intake hose. Step 2: Remove the rubber intake hose by loosening the clamps near the throttle body and the upper portion of the air box and then gently pry it free. Step 3: (Assuming that you haven't removed your air intake silencer yet) Using a 5/16 wrench or socket, remover the bolt holding the air box to the fender. Step 4: Gently pry upward on the airbox assembly until it is out of the car. Step 5: Separate the airbox assembly by undoing the two metal clamps holding it together. Step 6: Reveal the Mass Air Sensor by undoing four snaps on the upper portion of the airbox. Step 7: Disconnect the cable connected to the Mass Air Sensor and unscrew the two screws holding the MAS to the air box assembly with a 10 mm wrench. Set aside the MAS and the metal screen, we'll need it a bit later.
